IMF became TDL and have always specialised in transmission lines. Clever engineering of two dissimilar bass drivers in an 'Active line' configuration produces a big sound with excellent bass extension (but not bass heaviness).
We originally replaced the mid drivers (with rotten surrounds) with Monacor units (see the Falcon acoustics website) but this messed with the critical midrange, and everything was better after carefully refoaming two original units. The trebles are still being made by audax: these are new ones. New capacitors in the crossovers. The result is a superb speaker that will fill a big room (they are efficient too and don't need a huge amplifier).
